I went in for my 38 week appointment at 8 am the other day and my doctor said, "How about we have this baby tonight?" I was all sure, why not right? I didn't really think he was serious, but he checked me and I was at a 3 plus and 75 % so he stripped my membrane and said to go to Labor and Delivery tonight at 6:30. He said if I have contractions that are 5 minutes or less apart to go in earlier. He told me to walk and have an active day. So I did what any prego miserable woman would do.... took Logan and Raylie on a bike trail by my house, then mom and I went to McDonalds, went to the store, borrowed some friends 4 wheelers and went with my mom and the kids, got the kids' bags ready to stay at my parents that night, took a shower, had a bowl of cereal for dinner, then headed to Labor and Delivery. I was still a little uncertain as to what was going to happen. I wasn't sure if the hospital would keep me. Josh and I went to the front desk and I tell them my doc wanted me to come in around 6:30 (it was actually 7 by the time we got there). The nurses asked, "oh are you are you here to be induced?" I told them my name and they grabbed the red folder...I was being induced! I got in the delivery room and after having my veins blown twice for the IV...OUCH, the third time worked and they started the pit, this was at 8 p.m. My doc came at 9:30 ish and broke my water. He said he would come back in a little bit and see how things were going. The nurse checked me at 945 and I was a 6 plus almost 7 and ready for my epidural! My mom, Sharise and Craig got to the hospital right as they were starting it. At 10:30 the epidural was in and we were ready to play the waiting game. We were guessing the time of birth and I was getting nervous because I could still move my legs... they were getting heavy but I still could move them! I didn't want to feel any pain so I was asking the nurse if we needed to strengthen the dose. At 11:oo she checked me and I was at a 9 plus. So we got in position to do a practice push. I only did one because I was fully dilated and ready to have a baby! I could still move my legs and feel the HORRIBLE back contractions and pressure. Craig left the room, my doc got there and I pushed three times and he was here! I didn't feel any pain, (besides the back contractions) it was actually nice to be able to move my legs and feel like I had some control. Time of birth 11:36 p.m. Weighing 7 pounds 3 ounces and 19 inches long! WOW it was fast. From start to finish with Logan was 9 hours, Raylies was 7 hours. If you are wondering why I didn't say the actual day is because were are not private and we didn't want his date of birth plus full name for all the world.

We are all doing great! We got home today and things have been good! Logan and Raylie love him to pieces! If anyone knows of a good treatment for horribly sore nursing nipples PLEASE let me know. It has gotten worse with each kiddo.

Yay, how exciting!!! Congrats on your cute little boy!
CONGRATS CONGRATS! How cool that it went so fast (SORRY about the epidural, that's happened to be both times and it really ticks me off when it happens to me or anyone else.) That's amazing--only 3 pushes, I can only hope for that! He is cute as can be. Hmm...sore nipples are rough. Lansinoh after EVERY feeding helped me a ton (every hour if you can remember it), and air drying helped some. If all else fails, go buy some of those clear nipple shields. My sisters said they saved her life when she had twins.
He's so cute!! Wow, awesome birth story! I'm glad the labor/delivery was so dang easy. Right after I had my babies and was nursing (and was really messed up) my doctor told me to get plain 'ol chapstick and put it on before each feeding. He said it helps to heal, really moisturizes well, and will not hurt the baby at all! Sucks that they keep getting worse, I would've hoped it gets better each time!
I used that Lansinoh stuff too and it works great. Do you have some? If not, have mom grab you some. It's in a little purple tube and she can get it at Wal-mart. I think it's just called Sore Nipples or something like that. I love the pics! He is such a cutie and I can't wait to see him in a week. Tell him to not get too big! :)
Congrats! He is a cutie. I am glad that everything went well and you don't have to go through the summer being prego.
Congrats! I am so excited to see the newest addition to your family.
He is a Keeper
YAY!!! He is beautiful! Oh, I feel like it has been SO LONG since we've seen you guys! Sorry I've been such a hermit.
I'm so glad everything went fast for you! As far as the nipple issue, try cabbage leaves. Seriously! Lansinoh lanolin works as well, but my fave has been this gell-type wound dressing thing they gave me at the hospital you can cut into smaller pieces and apply after a feeding. I think it's called a "borderless wound dressing." I'll have to check!
Glad you are all home, I'll have to give you a call later! :) !!!!
Man if only I was that lucky when I had Hailey!! Congrats He looks like a keeper, what a cute little guy!!
Congratulations!!! He is adorable. I'm interested to hear how the adjustment to three will be :)

Congratulations! He's perfect! I want one! :)
he is so cute and you look great!
Congrats! He is sooooo cute. Hope you guys are recovering okay. We are still waiting to bring our little girly home. Hopefully one of these days.
Oh great! It gets worse with each kid? Well that's good to hear, lol. Congrats on your baby! I was just wondering if you had had him yet. I have to say...the only thing that helped me with the soreness was wearing the soft shell medela cups in between nursing so they aren't touching anything. I don't know if you have seen them, but there are two kinds. They have the ones for inverted nipples and one for sore nipples...honestly either one would work because it's just giving them that open area they need so they aren't touching anything, ya know? Anyway...Sure you haven't really been checking other peoples blogs much as I'm sure you are busy with your new little one...but I just posted a while ago that we are having 2 boys! AAaaaaahhhhh! Crazy, honestly I never would have guessed that one for some reason, lol. Anyway, congrats again! Hope you're doing great!
He is adorable! Glad you and Lucas are doing well!
I will be back this weekend actually. Cause I have a doctors appointment first thing monday morning, so i will probably be flying back saturday or sunday. Can't wait to be home!
Congrates!! He is so cute! Glad to hear that your labor went great!! glad it was not a repeat of Logans. Cant wait to see this little man! To bad he couldn't come before I left to MN! jk
He is beautiful! I am so happy for you! When I had my epidural with Jayce it was the same- I could move my legs- I loved it that way- I am sure its nice to have it over with and to have that cute baby here! Cant wait to hold him! I wish we could run to st george for a few days but the wedding princess has my life planned out to the second for the next three weeks-- no time for fun! But soon after that-- I am planning to party in St George- hopefully we can get the boys together!!
I love being induced! It is the best. I'm glad your little guy is healthy and well. Congrats!
Congratulations! He is so handsome! And I love the name Lucas (I think I tried to talk David into it for both of our boys but he had a friend with that name or something like that so he didn't want to use it. Anyway, he is really adorable. I only wish he would have come while I was in town so I could have seen him in person. :) Congrats again to your family!
holy cow! Congratulations!!!!!!!!!!
I have been in Denver and Didn't even know this happened!!! Like my dad follows rules and doesn't tell me, like he has to keep your info confidential :)
